Urban Matterz
Urban Matterz is a festival for lovers of Hip Hop culture and urban sports. You can experience: Breakdancing, graffiti art, human beatboxing and urban sports, like BMX, freerun, street basketball, skate and more. The daytime program is free of charge and will have no other than Crazy Legs of the legendary Rock Steady Crew do a demo and provide a number of workshops.
The 3rd eddition of Urban Matterz droppes a thrilling, as well as surprising line-up. After a full day of activities from local and international creatives, the evening program will give other national and international performing artists a chance to showcase their skills on stage.
Some of the international names are:
Does Mantronix ring a bell? Needle to the groove! Mantronix completes his rare European tour (for the first time in 25 years back in Europe!) With a visit to Helmond. Can we enjoy classical tracks like ‘Scream’, ‘Got To Have Your Love’ and ‘Bassline’.
Newcleus: Newcleus belongs to the founders of electro hiphop and known for their hit single ‘Jam On It’. Newcleus will have a jamsession with Hans Dulfer, so check that out!
Remember Kurtis Blow, he had an international hip hop hit song called ‘The Breaks’. He was the first rapper to sign with a major record label and the first to be commercially successful.
And dj Sammy B (indeed, of the Jungle Brothers) will be present to showcase his DJ skills and end this legendary evening with some dope funky hiphop tunes!
this year Urban Matterz will host the Dutch Beat Box Championship. It is going to be just as spectacular as the previous edition.
